The Epitomized Path mechanic was introduced to combat this problem. Players choose their "path," or the weapon they want to pull for. If they obtain a different five-star weapon (the other promotional featured weapon or a Standard weapon), they'll earn a Fate Point. Then, the next time they pull the limited five-star weapon, the Fate Point will be consumed and the weapon they charted their path for is guaranteed to be

Not to mention, a lot of Hydro characters are known for their versatility. For instance, Neuvillette, Ayato and Childe are both some of the most powerful DPS in the game, while Barbara and Kokomi are ever-reliable healers. Furina and Nilou offer quite the balance between heals and attacks, while Yelan can break the game at Constellation 6 with her multi-faceted abilit

Any SLG Game Beginner Guide that's branded as a "free-to-play" title is almost immediately going to get inundated with any number of negative connotations and accusations alike. Long-winded, grind-inducing, predatory, a matter of luck over skill on the kind of content you’re granted outside of some voluntary, monetary investment. It may sound dismissive and pessimistic, but the number of such games whose priorities with maintaining a steady revenue stream doesn’t get in the way of the base game offered are few and far between. Enter Genshin Impact, developer miHoYo’s far from first rodeo on the F2P frontier -- itself thrown many a condescending remark on being a clone of this or imitation of that. The similarities are there to see of course and while admittedly a touch obvious in parts, what I’m most thankful for with Genshin Impact is the genuine effort and design miHoYo have placed in crafting an enjoyable action RPG to start. A live service, continually-expanding release this may be, Genshin Impact’s starting world, its gameplay, its sheer breadth of exploration put many similar open-world efforts, let alone F2P attempts, to shame. To state with hand on heart I’ve now clocked near to 40 hours and still not spent a single penny -- occasionally tempting it may be -- I’m grateful that Genshin Impact has taken a more sensible approach to F2P games: satisfying base game first, additional monetization second as an option.

In addition to the hard pity system in Genshin Impact that guarantees a 5-star for every 90 Wishes, there is also a soft pity cap that increases the odds of getting a 5-star before 90 pulls has been reached. Although the exact numbers aren't officially confirmed, it's clear that the odds of getting a 5-star character increase significantly after players have made at least 74 Wishes since their last 5-star. Because of this system, it's likely that most players won't have to go all the way to 90 to receive a 5-star character. Pulling a five-star character is thought to be around 0.6% up until around the 74th pull, give or t

Being a gacha title, it’s important for Genshin Impact players to remember that there’s a lot to consider when pulling for a character across the game’s different banners. Players should approach Wishes with these in m

The Dendro Traveler’s scaling is decent enough for them to operate as a Sub-DPS in Genshin Impact . For that, giving them Elemental Mastery, Dendro DMG, and Crit items is viable for their build. However, they still lean more into the supportive role, so giving them weapons like Freedom-Sworn and Xiphos' Moonlight is more helpful to the t

The Pyro Traveler is a versatile unit that can operate as both on-field and off-field DPS. Before getting their C6, the Pyro Traveler operates purely as an off-field Sub-DPS who gets on the field to enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state and starts dealing off-field Pyro DMG. If you’re playing them like that, build the Pyro Traveler with 4pc of Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City to maximize their off-field presence by buffing their t

In short, as the player nears the "hard pity" of 80 pulls on the weapon banner or 90 on the character banner, the chances of obtaining a five-star increase little by little (theorized at around 6% per wish) until they hit 100%. For the character banner, for example, that looks something like t
The next generation is here and unfortunately with it comes few games that utilize the power they offer. If you were lucky enough to obtain a PlayStation 5, you would be met with only one major game that was truly exclusive to Sony’s next generation platform: Demon’s Souls. While there’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Sackboy: A Big Adventure, each incredibly well-designed games, both were also released on the PS4. It’s a sad state of affairs when the PlayStation 5’s only next-generation exclusive is a remake of a PlayStation 3 game, but at least Bluepoint was able to properly honor the original’s vision with adding and slightly refining it. While there are elements that do feel dated to later iterations in the Souls franchise, there’s nothing like revisiting the classic and experience where the award-winning franchise began. Beautiful visuals, a 60fps mode and excruciatingly-challenging scenarios, while FromSoftware was not at the helm, the remake shines as one of the best games this year. If there’s one game to get on the new platform in 2020, it’s this fifty-plus hour RPG with so much replayability. Without Demon’s Souls, the PlayStation 5’s launch would be just plain embarrassing, making me so very thankful of its existence.
